Being homeless means the opposite of "safety in numbers." I've only let one other vandweller know where I park. It's safe, well lit and has nearby businesses with washrooms, which is a pretty decent setup.
Locally, residents are also very aggressive to homeless camps. Thankfully, no shootings yet, but there's this pervasive belief that we're all addicts with machetes just waiting to snap or run into a busy street.
I get so sick of "the homeless are the problem, not soaring housing costs and a deteriorating job market that led to homelessness."
Minneapolis police have said over a dozen people have been hurt in two separate shootings at homeless encampments across the city on the same day.
The first shooting at a transit station wounded five people, and happened in an area that had seen two prior shootings in the past month.
Minneapolis police chief Brian O’Hara rued the shootings as disturbingly commonplace.
“Here we are yet again in the aftermath of a mass shooting. This is not normal,” O’Hara said.

Ben & Jerry’s co-founder Jerry Greenfield has stepped away from the ice-cream brand after nearly 50 years, according to a post by the other founder, Ben Cohen.
Cohen’s post shared what he said was a letter from Greenfield in which he called it one of the “hardest and most painful decisions” he had ever made.
Greenfield said the company had been silenced by Unilever and its independence to speak up on global issues was “gone”.
“If the company couldn’t stand up for the things we believed, then it wasn’t worth being a company at all,” Greenfield said.

Sure, but this is also Unilever altering the deal, pray they alter it no further.
In 2000, Unilever struck a $326m deal to buy the business, a move that at the time reportedly did not please Greenfield, with stipulations including the creation of the brand’s own independent board to allow it to continue to take progressive stances on social and political issues and uphold its core values.
This is disappointing to hear. B&J's has always been very outspoken about social issues, and it's something I was glad to see that they were able to do. It seems unlikely to be a coincidence that now is when they feel unable to continue doing so.

The MCU's been putting out "meh" and "camp" movies for years. (Thor 2). I still go because I have a fairly low bar for date-night, and they're still not the worst movies I've sat through. But I don't know if I'd want to re-watch any of the ones I mentioned.
I absolutely loved Dr Strange 2. If anything, that should have been any example of how the MCU could break from the mold from time to time instead of being the same.
You know upon re watching Black Widow not that long ago I was surprised how much more I liked it the second time around. Not the ending of course that's all garbage that last like 30 minutes of the film or whatever it is was awful, but everything else? The stuff with the sister and the family? That all really worked for me.
You know, I rewatched Thor 2 after watching Loki Season 1 (and Ragnarok and Infinity War and Endgame) and it was a lot better. I think it helped that I knew what to expect so it wasn't as boring.

Now I realize there are outside forces at play here, and the plan is for Doomsday to pickup where these loose ends dropped, but it still sucks.
He did have an intimidating face when the mask was down. They went for the more lighthearted crazy MODOK when the mask was up/removed. I'd have to scrub through the scenes again but I thought he had some scenes where he was yelling that also looked intimidating.
I was really hoping that they would stop trying to keep to a single canon after Endgame. There’s no more stakes to raise at that point. What’s your next move? Killing and saving 2/3 of the universe?
What I wanted to see was for them to embrace the multiverse and just let go of a single story arc. Let the hero’s just live in their own worlds and don’t limit yourself to a single actor.
So many creative ideas are limited by the adherence to a single plot. It was really cool for a long while, but I’m tired. I want a reset and a chance for new writers, directors and producers to get a chance to show us their unique versions of these heroes’ worlds.

The tiny amount of free will we posses lies within the "narrow limits" of being able to accept and live by, or deny any amount of rationality or logic, thus, right and therefore truth that we might find within any amount of knowledge (including the knowledge of the experience) that we all seemingly stumble upon throughout our lives; we're all a "creature with a conscience" (Tolstoy). Truths ranging from things we've long forgotten and haven't even noticed we accepted like needing to drape cloth upon our backs to whatever extent or going about this or that hygiene habit (we are what we've been surrounded with), or truths we're in the midst of either recognizing and therefore, allowing to govern our thoughts and subsequently our behaviors today and tomorrow, or denying and therefore, not doing so ("we are what we repeatedly [think, and therefore] do." - Plato). Like beginning to strive to become this or that within the way mankind has manipulated its environment and organized itself up until now; to get married, or to believe in an influence of the divine to whatever degree (objectively, our knowledge of morality—religion, no matter the source, and the idea of an unimaginable God(s) or creator(s) of some kind are two very different things).
The future, as anyone of any present can plainly see, assuming they're assimilated with the history of humans to some extent and capable of contrasting the humans that lived x amount of years prior to them with their contemporaries, consists of a great combining of all the "right" and therefore truths we only ever continue to stumble upon, gradually purify of falsehood, and allow to become any individuals of any present times circumstances. As we see within politics for example, there are truths and falsehoods to be found on both sides of the political spectrum, and through this excruciatingly slow mellieniums long transitioning of continuously gathering up, purifying, and combing all the logic or rationality, and therefore, rights and subsequently truths we ever come to find at any point of time throughout mankinds history within our knowledge of anything—through this inherent and inevitable process, we'll come to find that our recognition of the truth as a species will go "from a truth more alloyed with errors to a truth more purified from them." - Leo Tolstoy.
Just as an alcoholic is able to choose to continue to indulge in their knowingly bad habit and deny the truth of beginning to strive to rid themselves of it and live up to the images they can't help but conjure in their minds of a "better," "purer" self, so can we all choose to begin to strive to become the subjectively "best" possible version of ourslves based on the standards we set via whatever truths we're presently recognizing or denying, or have unknowingly recognized long ago via the influence of our peers and contemporaries, and of course by looking within to our own conscience.
We can all either choose to be dragged along living by the effects of those that have lived before us, shaping our lives around it—a "career," money, marriage, retirement—becoming a product of our contemporaries and choosing the easier path that only leads to destruction (Matt 7:13), building our house (our life) out on the sand with the fool in the process, as most people would be inherently drawn to do (Matt 7:24), or choose to break free of these shackles, and live by being the cause of the effects of what the world is yet to become—an Abraham, Noah, Moses, Jonah, Socrates, Jesus, Abraham Lincoln, Gandhi, MLK. This is the tiny amount of free will we as creatures with a conscience posses: to be a slave of effects and be dragged along with it, or to break free to reach the "true life" of striving to be the cause of effects, building our house on the rocks with the wise, taking the more difficult path that leads to "eternal life," that I equate as a kind of martyrdom—your name and what you lived for being resurrected after death via our unique and profound ability to retain and transfer knowledge, living on to inspire mankind even potentially eternally, as objectively, Jesus proved—becoming a "sign" (Luke 11:29) to people, as Jonah was to the people of his time.

The tiny amount of free will we posses lies within the "narrow limits" of being able to accept and live by, or deny any amount of rationality or logic, thus, right and therefore truth that we might find within any amount of knowledge (including the knowledge of the experience) that we all seemingly stumble upon throughout our lives; we're all a "creature with a conscience" (Tolstoy). Truths ranging from things we've long forgotten and haven't even noticed we accepted like needing to drape cloth upon our backs to whatever extent or going about this or that hygiene habit (we are what we've been surrounded with), or truths we're in the midst of either recognizing and therefore, allowing to govern our thoughts and subsequently our behaviors today and tomorrow, or denying and therefore, not doing so ("we are what we repeatedly [think, and therefore] do." - Plato). Like beginning to strive to become this or that within the way mankind has manipulated its environment and organized itself up until now; to get married, or to believe in an influence of the divine to whatever degree (objectively, our knowledge of morality—religion, no matter the source, and the idea of an unimaginable God(s) or creator(s) of some kind are two very different things).
The future, as anyone of any present can plainly see, assuming they're assimilated with the history of humans to some extent and capable of contrasting the humans that lived x amount of years prior to them with their contemporaries, consists of a great combining of all the "right" and therefore truths we only ever continue to stumble upon, gradually purify of falsehood, and allow to become any individuals of any present times circumstances. As we see within politics for example, there are truths and falsehoods to be found on both sides of the political spectrum, and through this excruciatingly slow mellieniums long transitioning of continuously gathering up, purifying, and combing all the logic or rationality, and therefore, rights and subsequently truths we ever come to find at any point of time throughout mankinds history within our knowledge of anything—through this inherent and inevitable process, we'll come to find that our recognition of the truth as a species will go "from a truth more alloyed with errors to a truth more purified from them." - Leo Tolstoy.
Just as an alcoholic is able to choose to continue to indulge in their knowingly bad habit and deny the truth of beginning to strive to rid themselves of it and live up to the images they can't help but conjure in their minds of a "better," "purer" self, so can we all choose to begin to strive to become the subjectively "best" possible version of ourslves based on the standards we set via whatever truths we're presently recognizing or denying, or have unknowingly recognized long ago via the influence of our peers and contemporaries, and of course by looking within to our own conscience.
We can all either choose to be dragged along living by the effects of those that have lived before us, shaping our lives around it—a "career," money, marriage, retirement—becoming a product of our contemporaries and choosing the easier path that only leads to destruction (Matt 7:13), building our house (our life) out on the sand with the fool in the process, as most people would be inherently drawn to do (Matt 7:24), or choose to break free of these shackles, and live by being the cause of the effects of what the world is yet to become—an Abraham, Noah, Moses, Jonah, Socrates, Jesus, Abraham Lincoln, Gandhi, MLK. This is the tiny amount of free will we as creatures with a conscience posses: to be a slave of effects and be dragged along with it, or to break free to reach the "true life" of striving to be the cause of effects, building our house on the rocks with the wise, taking the more difficult path that leads to "eternal life," that I equate as a kind of martyrdom—your name and what you lived for being resurrected after death via our unique and profound ability to retain and transfer knowledge, living on to inspire mankind even potentially eternally, as objectively, Jesus proved—becoming a "sign" (Luke 11:29) to people, as Jonah was to the people of his time.

Authorities are investigating whether Tyler Robinson, suspected of killing Charlie Kirk, believed Kirk's views on gender identity were "hateful" to people like Robinson's transgender roommate, six sources familiar with the case tell Axios.
The latest: Utah Gov. Spencer Cox (R) confirmed Sunday on ABC News' "This Week" that Robinson lived with a romantic partner who was undergoing a gender transition.
Robinson's roommate is cooperating with authorities, Cox said, but Robinson is not and has not confessed to Kirk's killing.
The roommate was "aghast" at the slaying when speaking to investigators and shared electronic messages sent by Robinson, one of the sources said.
"That's what happened? Oh my God, no," the roommate said, according to the source. "Here are all the messages."
I heard this on "This Week" and looked for details, but there aren't yet many sources with details.
It saddens me that the right will latch on to this as proof Robinson is a "lefty" rather than seeing this kid was indoctrinated in right-wing thinking his whole life and when finally confronted with a left-wing issue he cared about, his automatic reaction was a right-wing response.
I agree with you, but I also think that since there's a video clip of Cox saying it on TV, the right will never ever let go of it no matter what turns out to be true. I want everyone to know this statement exists so they're prepared for it.

It’s a strange time for the US economy. Prices are rising, jobs growth has stalled, uncertainty is everywhere and stock markets have soared to record highs. Against this background a scary word last used in the 1970s is being uttered again: stagflation.
I really hope the irony is cemented into history books.
Jerome Powell did a frankly amazing job preventing us from entering stagflation because he looked to lessons from history, and specifically what Chairman Paul Volcker did to solve stagflation.
