It feels like this person was mad at the TESCREAL label and decided to make a blog post going "nuh-uh, I know you are but what am I"... except they have none of the academic ability of the TESCREAL authors so they just sort of pile on labels and ideologies without properly showing any causal or ideological relationship (like the TESCREAL authors do). Heck, they outright screw up words and definitions in a few places, (Orate sticks out to me).
So I know you were going for a snappy summary, but I think one of the important things to note is that the TESCREAL essay doesn't call them a singular cult, it draws connections between the letters of the acronym including inspirations, people in multiple letters of the acronym, common terminology, common ideological assumptions, and such.
I think a hypothetical more mature rationalist movement would acknowledge their historical and current influences and think critically about how they relate to them instead of just going nuh-uh. Like the relatively more reasonable EAs occasionally point out problematic trends in their movement and at least try to address them (not particularly effectually, but at least they aren't all in total denial).

I wanted to be able to setup a wireguard docker container with gluetun such that I can connect multiple devices to it at home, in order to minimize my "five device limit" with mullvad. I have the following docker compose:
Whenever I try connecting to it by iphone, which is my first attempt for the peer, it doesn't quite work out. The packets are received by the container, and querying cloudflare as such works:

This took me only some minutes to have a running VPN for my mobile devices and laptops for everyone in the family.
Important: to reach my VPN at home a #portforwarding from ISP router to my homelab linux server is needed. WireGuard does authenticate devices - not users! So you need a config for each devices!
Oh I've been looking for an easier to setup wireguard! I have been reluctantly using Tailscale since PiVPN dev had to take a step back. Tailscale is just too much other stuff. I just need to be an IP ony LAN, I don't need all the other stuff.
Unfortunately the leaders of red states are actually organizing, arming, and putting boots on the ground in this clear civil war, and blue state leaders are either scoring twitter points, or doing nothing at all. Was the behavior of the ICE agents legal, definitely not. But, calling up the national guard just in case there is a civil disturbance is legal. And the president doing so against the will of the governor is also legal, as can be seen with the Little Rock nine in 1957. The governor saying “no don’t actually” would have been ignored by the national guard, and ultimately would have been worse then what happened. The situation didn’t escalate and thus trump didn’t really get what he wanted.
It’s going to keep happening though and something will break at some point. It’s also worth pointing out that newsome is hardly “the left” most of the Democratic Party isn’t “the left”. And they’re going to sleep walk through this national crisis because that’s what’s most convenient to them.
