in reply to Anon Opin • • •ITS just did a massive migration from campus-specific tenants to a university-level tenant, breaking all sorts of stuff. I had to go back into all of the applications and whack-a-mole Copilot in each all over again.
But post-migration, office.com throws Copilot chat front & center. I put in a support ticket to have it disabled, and the response was that they can't disable it, but be assured that it does not have access to my data.
I thanked them for the assurance and told them that I'd file that assurance between the assurance that we'd be able to opt-out of Copilot and the three assurances we've received after disastrous changes in the past few years that "next time" ITS plans to introduce major changes, they'd talk to the faculty first to understand the impact.
Then I opted out of Copilot chat by disabling Javascript for m365.cloud.microsoft.
