This is an automatic post from a script that walks a list of instances four
times a day querying each instance.

As of 2025-09-24 22:30 (UTC) there are 35,842 responsive instances, 7,581,360 registered non mastodon accounts, and 360,569 active non mastodon accounts.

Most Misskey instances doesn't report active user counts.

Dead instances are instances that previously responded to the nodeinfo API but now either don't respond at all or return a HTTP error code. Barred instances are instances that prohibit fetching of statistics by a robot.
