I have 15 minutes on friday to try to Inform my coworkers about the side of internet we like, ie the parts not run by large companies. I can say whatever I like, including try to sell them on some integrity stuff.

Thanks! I looked through Castopod and connected up a bunch, some already had the fedicast in it. Thanks to whomever did that. 😀. I saw Apple, Amazon, Google, Spotify, etc. But they all require logins and I don't really wanna be in those systems. I know it'd probably help, but they're all literally against what this all stands for. So hopefully it'll grow organically through Fediverse. 😀.
If folks disagree I'd love to hear thoughts.

I had an appointment with a tax preparation professional.
He kept me waiting for 15 minutes so I actually read the privacy notice, which indicated that my Canadian tax information would be stored in the US and subject to US law.
I raised the issue with the desk clerk, who tried to reassure me that the point of the privacy notice is that my personal information would be safe.
Accessible to random Americans, subject to the whims of the current administration. "Safe.”
I left.
If anyone knows of Canadian tax software that *does not involve data storage in other countries,* please let me know.
I'm honestly contemplating doing the damn thing on paper.

I know it's been said many many times before, but every single bit of trans healthcare was originally created for and still predominantly used for gender affirmation of cis people. And cis people have much higher dissatisfaction and regret rates for those healthcare procedures.
HRT? Cis people treating menopause or low testosterone or improving fertility or prostate cancer or anything else that fucks with the endocrine system.
Puberty blockers? Cis kids with precocious puberty
Mastectomy, orchiectomy, hysterectomy, cis people.
Even vaginoplasty or phalloplasty or metoidioplasty were invented as urology reconstructive surgeries to correct injuries, birth defects, or other medical conditions impacting cis people's genitals.
Banning the same exact necessary healthcare procedures for one population and not for another, despite having even better outcomes by basically any metric you can show is textbook discrimination.
