#WritersCoffeeClub Mar 13. Are you mindful of your readers’ expectations? How so?
My readers expect English-language translations of German folk tales, which is already a pretty rare thing.
But I can't just translate the tales themselves and call it a day (or worse, run the texts through an #LLM translator) - I need to provide _context_, for otherwise these tales won't make a lot of sense to my readers. 19th century #Germany is culturally pretty removed from 21st Germany - let alone from modern international readers, many of whom have never even visited the country. They _need_ some pointers to what is going on in these stories.
Hey nerds. What is the purpose of multiple login pages. Like email first page, password second page, then maybe captcha or login? Why not give all the info at once?
Like right now I am dealing with a shipping company that makes you enter the tracking, then next page loads and asks you the zip code. Why isn't that all on the same page?

"Additionally, Thorizon will finalise the reactor's basic design, advance licensing, and prototype key components as it progresses toward starting construction in 2030."

Thorizon - a spin-off from NRG, which operates the High Flux Reactor in Petten - is developing a 250 MWt/100 MWe molten salt reactor, targeted at large industrial customers and utilities. The Thorizon One concept is unique in that the core is composed of a set of cartridges that is replaced every five to ten years.
The company said it is conducting pre-feasibility studies at three nuclear-designated sites in France, Belgium and the Netherlands, targeting construction by 2030."

Riddle me this, friends. If I go and book a ticket Newcastle to Chester, a nice normal thing to do, and more than two months in advance at that, the lowest price is £104.80.
If I split it into two tickets, the lowest price is £23.80.
Would anyone like to explain in what possible universe this is in any way okay or sensible? And who do I need to take hostage in order to fix it?
(I'm not asking for advice, by the way. I am a grandmaster of train ticket booking. Even Trainline can only get the price down to £33, I can do ten quid better because I have EXTREME SKILLS learnt through many years of BRUTAL TRAINING in the minefields of UK train bookings. @Workshopshed It's with a train from Leeds to Chester which only costs a tenner. And to be fair, that's superb value. It's just superb value that's hidden from everyone who wants Leeds-Chester to be part of their journey rather than the whole journey.
