yes, pretty low on priorities tbh. Trains already solve most of that 😎 self driving on highways is probably the only realistic goal tbh and that could indeed help trucks.
“Self driving” cars deserve all the Darwin Awards. Have a ‘23 Toyota that steers & brakes, if I let it. It’s not a replacement for a human paying attention with hands on the wheel and eyes looking ahead.
self-driving anything just sounds like a bad idea. I was raised that you did almost everything yourself the first time. Only after you knew how to do something successfully for yourself could you hire someone to do it for you. I’m amazed at how many skills society is losing because people generally aren’t raised that way any more (of course, that assumes my generation were raised that way, which may or may not be accurate). If you don’t want to drive yourself, take mass transit. If mass transit isn’t an option (it’s not for me) then start lobbying local/state/federal governments to invest more in it. After all, it’s more efficient (not to mention better for the environment) to move groups of people than it is to move just 1 or 2 at a time.
Watched this video, and chuckled to myself how Wall Street traders have gambled their money on the expectation that consumers will pay, en mass, to ride in driverless Cybercabs when videos like this get 10 million views.
But what do we expect of a man, who has proven that he doesn't care about human beings and is only interested in filling his own pockets with money...?

I even commented on his video that is named one brand of car many times and never said the brand of the other. Beyond that, his testing has a classic video problem. N=1.
@riazrahaman I was tempted to say so too, but we should remember, that we have been driving cars on visual input only for more than a century. But yes… Lidar systems certainly seem more safe in some situations. @TechDesk
