HOBO SYMBOLS:

Almost from the beginning of the existence of hoboes, as early as the 1870s, it was reported that they communicated with each other by way of a system of cryptic "hobo signs", which would be chalked in prominent or relevant places to clandestinely alert future hoboes about important local information.

Military buildup is never something I can feel thrilled about, but in this case it is a sign of good news: a Europe-Canada alliance to shed US dependence is taking shape with impressive speed.

At least •somebody• understands the new kind of threat the US now poses.

I guess my dreams of reducing American hegemony involved a lot more giving everyone else a leg up and a lot less shooting ourselves in the face

the only way for cloudflare to have this data is if it is inside the ssl channel, analyzing traffic to their customers who are logging in.

ssssoooooooo i guess this makes the cloudflare logs a massive target for nation states now?

I'm not a fan of this kind of thing from 404: 404media.co/dogequest-site-cla…

There's a lot of people who own Teslas who have owned them for years and wanted to buy an EV to help the environment. I'd wager the majority of them are probably not exactly fans of the direction things are going in the states, so all you're gonna do is end up harming the people who are probably among the most on your side.

i took a photo of the Hitachi HD46505 sync generator chip (a MC6845 clone). unfortunately it broke into pieces when i decapped the package using a heat gun, but the fragments are interesting.
in reply to Tube Time

IIRC, the "S" at the end of the P/N is significant (i.e., not a binning or package code), and distinguishes it from a slightly different part with an "R" suffix. It's not a revision level per se, as both chips were orderable contemporaneously.

I rode 22 miles tonight and got home very late, but i had prepped enough for a pizza that this didn't take long once i got home
in reply to Emily Velasco

looks so good. I’ve been wanting to make pizzas especially with you posting these… soon I think. Peer pressure pizza. I have most/all of the ingredients too(!)
in reply to Zack Stern

@zackstern you should! remember that even bad pizza is still good, so even if you do terribly, it will still be tasty and you can only go up from there
in reply to Emily Velasco

thanks for pizza wisdom. I’ve done it a bunch too, posted it here before I think. I think it’s just been like 6 months since most recently, and that’s a long time.

I’m usually firing on a sheet metal/steel piece, but I might also try your cast iron style.

in reply to Zack Stern

@zackstern oh, then you're an old hand at this. Definitely try the cast iron. it works nicely

Should get the court to declare "Instant fine payable to the defendant of $1million doubling on each occurrence this libel is repeated to anyone by OpenAi or its systems". .. And the Dad then agrees it split it 50/50 with anyone who can provide evidence of the breach...
in reply to Ars Technica

If AI companies could "delete" hallucinations they would have done so already. But that's the problem, they can't.
