I'm not normally on Masto at this time, but just had a question.

In #GIMP3 the Lightness/Contrast tool appears to go *much* darker with one adjustment to contrast, compared to #GIMP 2.

I felt in G2, that the slider made smaller, incremental changes (and is easier for me to replicate than using curves because I don't always have steady hands).

Has anyone else noticed contrast being darker?

Is the only answer to use Curves/Levels?

Now I need to research colour theory and how GIMP3 interprets light differently. I've tried using levels, but I was so used to how Brightness/Contrast works it was enough.

I've "thumbed-up" that thread. As it's a known issue, is there any point in filing it now?

You're right about ImageData - i'm not using it because that means sending the full uncompressed pixel data from GPU to CPU (and back on the other side) which is relatively slow, the main advantage of Syphon/Spout being that you can send just the handle of the texture which is already on the GPU.

For sharing uncompressed video between processes on Linux you can already use PipeWire or github.com/nicobou/shmdata. The second one especially would be quite feasible to rig up to love2d ImageData I believe:

Oh, I like #MilaneseLace. It's so flexible and you can do such neat designs.

My first Milanese was this hummingbird. And then we did a colorful moon. It can be more interesting.

A hummingbird made of lace. It is a lace style that you can form into all kinds of shapes. It starts on the left with a beak, a wider head, then a body, then turns up to make the back and then finally a wing folds up at the top. It's mostly olive green, with a pink chin and belly serpentine shape, and also some gold flashes of some threads in the pattern. Probably 4 inches from head to tail.
A blue crescent moon in Milanese lace. It has some parts that are mostly a royal blue, some parts with green in the middle, and it has a few beads in the center part too. Some arrowhead looking motifs, some W shaped threads, some are more tightly woven. Some gold threads travel along the work as well. It's about the size of a small banana.

I'm not so sure. His daughter basically talks about his faux liberalism as a sort of marketing fascade. He showed people what he wanted them to see when that was the way the wind was blowing. He's simply hitched himself to a different horse now and so we see the mask more readily now. He hasn't changed. He's just no longer wearing the mask.
