I love sketching Kīrolisks, because it starts as an asemic mark and I have to look for the entity within it. 😌

Laurie managed to sneak into the greenhouse this morning.
He has his eyes closed so that we can't see him, which is his response any time we find him somewhere that he thinks he shouldn't be. Cute - but it doesn't work.

This painting featuring my granddaughter Seren was done for the inaugural Leftovers and Palette Gremlins gallery. Every week I set out to complete a small piece inspired by paint marks or other found patterns. 1/3

Cats really are liquid. Alex, who usually presents as a monstrosity the size of a bulldog, can also transform himself into this version: baby Alex.
Happy #Caturday!

This should chill everyone in this country to the bone. All she did was write an OpEd the administration didn’t like. This is fascistic suppression of free speech.

Crab Cay (Cayo Cangrejo) was the highlight of our Providencia trip. The turquoise waters are simply beyond believe. It is great for swimming in crystal clear turquoise waters but there is also no beach. How did you like it? backpackandsnorkel.com/Provide…

This is an unprecedented attack on public universities and higher education. Every professor that signed an employment contract decades ago loses their tenure?! What an insane, stupid thing to do.

Free one nightstand 😂 (sorry, I am easily amused).

I have a rather sad #caturday post today. This sweet boy is no longer in the physical realm with us. His kitty cat dementia and other health issues just became too much for him.

He had an episode where it seemed like he didn't recognize any of us and he's been with us since he was a teeny kitten. He attacked our other cat and was growling at everyone, even his puppies who loved so much.

I'm not really a cat person... never have been but he sure did make it a lot easier to think about being a cat person.

Bye Moby.

Sometimes I wish computers had an OST beyond the ambient "hard drive noises".

P.S. Please do tell me you love my shitposts.

in reply to Nina Kalinina

yes, I definitely love your shitposts.

For me, the ultimate computer hacking music isn’t anything punk or techno, it is from this scene in the old 1992 movie “Sneakers,” youtu.be/F5bAa6gFvLs

I’ll bet Nina knows all about that film, but for those who don’t, it’s about a group of penetration testers who are hired to steal a computer chip that was developed by a mathematician who (unbeknownst to the pen tester) had figured out how to factor products of two primes in O(n) time and encoded his equation into a computer chip, thus letting them break any asymmetric key cryptography. This is the scene where they discover exactly what it is that they have stolen.

That is the OST for everything I do on a computer.

The guy who wrote the OST for “Sneakers” also did the music for “A Beautiful Mind.” youtu.be/ZF4d17PUb3M (warning, it is an American propaganda film).

Have a great weekend everyone! Enjoy this pic of this beautiful tidal marsh that I saw on a walk near the ocean yesterday. This marsh is connected to the ocean (but not seen in this pic). I could hear the pounding of the surf from the ocean the entire walk! #ocean #hiking #CapeCod

“But many more scientists had not planned on relocating, until Trump began gutting funding and firing researchers. ‘This is my home — I really love my country,’ says a graduate student at a top US university who works in plant genomics and agriculture. ‘But a lot of my mentors have been telling me to get out, right now.’”

The chickens are our #homestead 's unsung heroes. Just getting on with their important business and leaving eggs. Here are 2/3 (Griddle and Mr. Flashy) of our aging, fox reduced, flock and their incoming reinforcements. I'm skeptical about geese, but they'll be here next week so I'll find out!
in reply to Tangent J. Hobbin

Yeah, chickens are so useful, and funny!

Curious how you'll cope with the geese. I hear they're trouble 😀

OK so I made a video.

Woot woot loved this video. I built a off grid shed once (and needed heat) a little math and the need to stay on budget results in some real time learning

Hello, could you also explain in particular cooking efficiency (maybe in connextras)? I know you are not a cooking channel, but I see these claims that a pressure/electric cooker is more efficient than cooking rice on a pot. Why is that if energy to cook rice is indeed same? Is it simply heat losses from the top? Can you recover some loss by covering the pot? Or is it simply that pressure cookers are power efficient (i.e. takes less time to cook with equal energy?)

#Turkish opposition rallies in defence of jailed Istanbul mayor in mass protest - theguardian.com/world/2025/mar… "Hundreds of thousands gather for Ekrem İmamoğlu outside Istanbul centre in move to keep momentum after clashes with police" huge, but is it huge enough?

ICE officers arrested 54-year-old Julio Noriega and moved him into a van before he could explain himself, he said. He spent several hours in an ICE processing center before officers checked his wallet and realized he is a U.S. citizen.

People are expected to carry proof of nationality around with them in the USA?

That's pretty much the definition of a police state.
