EDIT: A lot of people seem to be misunderstanding this and think this is an argument to pay people badly. It absolutely isn't. If you pay people badly, they will spend a lot if time thinking about money. Your job as a manager is to remove problems. Money removes a lot of problems. But a lot of problems cannot be removed by applying money. If someone competent is being told to do nonsense work that they know will cause problems in the long run, no amount of money will make them motivated. The problems that can be solved with money are the easy ones.
Across the board, the more CEOs get paid, the worse their companies do over the next three years, according to extensive new research. This is true whether they’re CEOs at the highest end of the pay spectrum or the lowest.

Coming up on Friday June 20th is the opening of my exhibition "a workshop for everyday technology", the outcome of my residency at the Leitrim Sculpture Center in Manorhamilton/Cluainín, County Leitrim, Ireland.

I love these sculptures. I expect someone has told you about the "Norwich keyboard" already... but just in case there is a concrete keyboard in Norwich, a bit of public art and it's rather beloved. It was made by Molly Sole in 1999 who intended it to be a mystery which for years it was.
It's interesting to think about what these works will look like as they age, and depending on if they are exposed to nature.
@futurebird Thank you! Also, thanks for sharing the "Norwich keyboard", I didn't know about this one. Love the urban myths around it, that it could be "a keyboard that fell into the fresh cement of the pavement"
Since taking that photo I have since slightly polished the keys which spell my password. I suppose these will eventually corrode, but love the idea that radical openness will exist until then 😀
