in reply to vga256 • • •it’s not hard to do. Can make up a DID range and folks can register to get a number allocation. Someone would have to host the actual dial-in server.
The nice thing about SIP trunking is that you can have an huge amount of channels per trunk. I’ve been meaning to play around with this for years now.
One thing that I haven’t quite worked out is how to simulate in software the answering modem to avoid requiring an FXS gateway and a ton of physical modems.
