for no justifiable reason, i Hate that there is now a C++ "logo". the fucking hexagon one. i think even C has a "logo" now. i can't explain why it annoys me. theres no reason for it. maybe it's because it looks like the logo of an early-2010s javascript framework? maybe its because of the idea of turning a programming language into a brand? or maybe its just an awful logo. but crucially!! it's awful in a completely different way to C++. its totally unsuitable. really bad branding

This looks like it's going to be a hot mess.

I don't even see Deno in my distribution's packages. And I'm a little surprised they tell people to use pip because distros necessarily have depreciated that as a way to install anything into the system (to avoid getting systems stuck in dependency hell and breaking system tools and services that use Python.)

At this rate yt-dlp could well balloon out of control from a simple almost independent package into a thing that requires its own venv and/or maybe even Miniconda...
