I haven't done a deep dive into the tech stack but the tg16 just Felt Different than the other sixteen-bit consoles at the time. I really liked it! The game catalog isn't wide but it's got a disproportionate amount of Cool Shit in it.

For a while, we had some nice neighbors. Some questionable business practices caused the apartment complex to go downhill. Police became a common sight. We moved again in my college years. The amount of AI-generated robo-voiced ads now on Serius XM is a bit nauseating, just wow. You can even tell, most of them don't take a breath and say the numbers repeatedly the same way. True, true. The surface shown in my last few posts can be described as a diagonal on the hypersphere. In this 🧵 I'll expand a bit on what I mean by that.

Stereographically projecting from the top pole onto a horizontal plane gives logarithmic spirals, where one of the poles projects to the point at infinity. However, if instead we turn the sphere on its side before projecting we get a family of beautiful double spiral curves which reveal the true symmetrical nature of the 2 poles.
What is the equivalent of these curves in one dimension up?
Instead of the familiar sphere in 3d space a.k.a. the 2-sphere (which can be parameterised with 2 coordinates, longitude and latitude) we now have the 3-sphere or hypersphere in 4d space.
Stereographic projection which maps the 2-sphere to the flat plane can also be generalised to higher dimensions, and it conformally maps the 3-sphere to our familiar Euclidean 3d space.
This projects Hopf coordinates to a triply orthogonal system composed of spheres, planes and nested tori. So, I figured out that I’m trans about five years ago. At first, dysphoria was terrible, but over time, things got better, the euphoria suppressed the dysphoria, even though I wasn’t on HRT until last month. I was questioning why feeling dysphoria became less common and not as strong either, and why I was doing well without HRT (though I’m super happy that I started). Well, I guess I just don’t care that much about 'passing' as a woman. I’m just happy being Amy. I like my name, I like portraying myself in a feminine form, and I like she/her pronouns, but I don’t mind they/them either. Like, I don’t even care that much about being misgendered. I don’t like it, it makes me sad sometimes, but I feel like I care way less than most.
At first, I felt bad about being kinda masculine or liking things that are usually associated with men, but over time, I learned to accept that part of myself too. Like, masculine women exist, right? Having a non-binary headmate fronting for me recently made me question why I’m okay with things that most trans girls aren’t. Dunno where I’m going with this, just thinking, I guess.
passing is something that isn't really important to us either, partially because we've kinda internalized that because of our height and proportions, we'll never pass, so there's not really any use in stressing over it. And in terms of gender, I believe that gender is unique to every individual in how they feel and express themselves. I grew up forced to conform to one gender, and the idea of transitioning just to conform to another feels restraining. Like, I'm waaaayyy more like a girl than anything else, but I'm not going to do or not do anything just because "girls do that/girls don't do that". I am myself, that's my gender, and I'm going to express it however I see fit, and not worry about passing or fitting in.

I voted for standard time because that’s what I prefer, but it’s a toss up between that and idc just stop switching. There’s no way everyone will ever agree on what’s best and we don’t actually have to. But we can all agree that switching the clocks around sucks and is bad for us.
Personally, I'd prefer permanent DST because my night vision really sucks, and regular-time sunset at winter solstice is around 4:30pm where I live, so it would be helpful to have a bit more daylight at the end of the day even in deepest winter.
