A web browser should *NEVER* be able to look inside your clipboard without an explicit user action (such as ctrl-v). Honestly, this should not be a controversial statement. Microsoft Edge is one of the browsers that ships this dangerous capability. Here is the dialog you need to hunt for to turn this API off.

Two logs and another broken screw extraction later. One log to go. 😤

Somehow my body aches a lot today. I can only imagine how people must have felt after sawing logs to boards 100 years ago. 😫

The large log sits in a cradle made from a long board of plywood on the bottom and two "book ends" which hold the log vertically with screws at each end. The contraption rests on the bandsaw table and a roller stand.
A wooden mallet, a 13 mm chisel, and a slotted screwdriver lying on top of the sawn-off log. In its endgrain, a screw sits inside the wood with its head snapped off, but the wood around it has already been removed with the tools, so it can easily be taken out with pliers.
Seven cherry boards, still with bark, each about 3 cm thick and 90 cm long, stacked with spacers in between them for air circulation on top of the workbench. Another log is standing vertically, resting on the side of the workbench.
The shorter log has been stacked up similarly, and held together with two ratched straps. The ends of the straps are long enough to be tied together, and the log is just about light enough so it can be carried around the neck in front of the body.

There's a lot of human stories behind every one of those machines, and also there's a lot of humanity we imbue into the machines themselves (particularly JAXA, but also others).

Is it logical or rational to humanize a robot halfway across the solar system? Maybe not. But we humans do it anyway.

Gestern wurde in Frankreich die neue Generation der TGVs vorgestellt. 20% mehr Kapazität, 30% weniger CO2-Ausstoß, 350km/h schnell und am Ende des Lebenszyklus sind 97% des Zuges wieder recyclebar. Dazu mehr Komfort, Barrierefreiheit und 5G Internet. Ab 2026 kommen die 125 neuen Züge auf die Schiene. Technisch wie optisch ein absolutes Meisterwerk

Wir kriegen alle zwei bis drei Jahre eine neue ICE-Generation (die ich nicht braeuchte, mir wuerden puenktliche und saubere Zuege reichen). Aber dass SNCF die TGV-Flotte erneuert, wird höchste Zeit, die Züge sind sowas von angeranzt.
