Install Vivaldi Browser. Give it notification permission. Visit your Fediverse Site, login, and when asked, if you want to allow notifications, say, yes. Click the Vivaldi logo next to the address bar, click on add page too, and select your home screen, then select "install".

You now have your own app for Sharkey. This will work for Misskey, CherryPick, and Mastodon too.

Remembering the last time we invaded Panama. It was ‘89. I was in college, didn’t have many problems, was in relatively decent shape, was having fun, watched a lot of grainy night-vision videos of the invasion on TV, War on Drugs seemed to be going swell, sort of banal breezy imperialism.

Been incredibly busy this week, some very cool stuff in the pipes. Nice today though to get home and go out for a bimble with the doggos. Some snow on the mountains making for nice views. #nwales #eryri

And there it is, just as expected. Russia is the obstacle to peace. They won’t even accept the ceasefire that Trump proposed and got Ukraine to agree to after strong arming them with threats of the loss of intelligence and military aid. Let there be no doubt: Russia is not serious about peace and will only accept it on its own terms. We must recommit to fully supporting Ukraine in its war efforts. Diplomacy with Russia doesn’t work. It’s time the Trump White House understood that.
in reply to Jay Kuo

Our NATO allies understood this, and their advice to Zelenskyy to call Russia’s bluff on a ceasefire was sound and has exposed Putin as the real impediment.

“ #Tesla is getting crushed in China, its most important market outside the U.S. and one that it had dominated for years.”
nytimes.com/2025/03/13/busines…

I am watching news in Chinese with my dad and it occurs to me that all this talk about the USA annexing Canada is really hilariously pathetic considering the US has already been annexed by Russia.

The Chinese are not kind on their reporting at all. They literally don't care about the tariffs. Steel? The US buys barely 1% of their steel.
Cars? They set themselves up to be the next world superpower and they are stepping up now.

The TSLA brand destruction continues.

Except for a slight bump up right after the election, independent analysts have had a very "bearish" opinion of #Tesla stock for over a year. If the company board doesn't act, hard to see how the brand doesn't continue to spiral down, though apparently they sold one Cybertruck in Washington DC yesterday.

Mizelle says cheering terrorists would be inconsistent with serving in a NatSec position and then qualifies it to apply just to being pro-ISIS terrorist, not -- say -- pro-MAGAt terrorist.

It looks like I’ll be spending quite a bit of time correcting the misleading claims of Chris Wright, the new U.S. Energy Secretary.

Calling himself a "climate realist," Wright acknowledged human-induced global warming yet framed it as a necessary trade-off.

Recently at CERAWeek the world's leading energy conference, he promised what he described as a complete reversal, or "180-degree pivot," of U.S. climate and energy policies. (audio & text)

Overheard the dumbest thing in which the reporter was shocked that many companies still offer work from home. And it's like, you know those companies, just by offering the thing workers really want, can pay people less and get better talent than ever, just by offering it right? With no real downside to productivity?

As soon as the job market gets competitive again, companies will bring it back to steal talent.

in reply to Cassandrich

I cound understand Fox News calling Social Security an "entitlement program". It's wrong but expected because they're a propaganda outlet.

Salon calling Social Security an "entitlement program" is acting as a mouthpiece for the regime. Something they presumably don't intend to be doing, but their headline writer can't figure that out..?

in reply to Cassandrich

There's only one significant "entitlement program" in the US, and that's patriarchal white supremacy. Funded in the form of police.
