We're going to be talking to OpenMV (openmv.io/) on the show. They have small cameras for $80-150 US. They are programmed in MicroPython and have enough processing power to to do some AI and drive motors (or lights).

What would you use such a camera for?

This is actually a serious answer, sorry. In animal rescue, semi-feral kittens are hard to live-trap. So I want a live trap with a camera and image processing to detect kittens, then activate the livetrap with a motor or solenoid when a maximum number of kittens is inside.

Went to the community garden with the kids to do some annual maintenance and help install some accessible raised gardens.

These are high enough that you can plant without stooping so low to the ground. It also allows wheelchair users to roll up to them and plant without having to get out of their chair.

@mhoye am gonna write a whole thing about it, but basically: had a lot of work spread out across different software and apps that did just good enough one thing. with obsidian i can do all of those things and more; but what’s even more important is the backing up: a lot of these apps didn’t have proper backup systems or they were wonky. everything is flat file and an .md file. backing up and porting to other formats is easy.
