From @pluralistic : Every time you hear "AI-assisted programmer," you should substitute "programmer-assisted AI."
In other words, who serves who? LLMs are really (really) far from being able to replace developers (or any knowledge-based professional). But they're more than ready to make everybody perform on the same mediocre level on the worst conditions imaginable.
Its the same as Amazon does to warehouse workers with all the "support" tech that is forced onto them.
