Speaking as a US citizen, Canada buying the F-35 is one of the most inexplicable things I've ever seen. The reason the US bought F-35s was as a workfare project for Lockheed. But Canada, *you* have no incentive to stimulate the Texas economy by buying a product that doesn't work. I don't care if Justin already paid for some of them. Just drop it and walk away. It will cost you more to maintain the useless things than it will to just buy something else.
Like never mind that they create dependence on a country which is a potential near-term enemy. Never mind that the US has demonstrated, in Ukraine, if it decides you're no longer an ally it will potentially lock you out of software on military equipment you bought from them. Lockheed also appears to employ about 1,000 Canadians. However, a single F35 costs canada $216 million dollars not counting maintenance. So I propose Canada buy one fewer plane and directly employ 1,000 Canadians at $216,000 a year to sit in a room

We could reasonably spend money having them build stuff that's actually useful. Y'know... subway systems, housing, hospitals (things government does build successfully in other countries).
But NASA already has job programs labeled "space". The SLS rocket program blows well over a billion dollars a year, and has launched its already-obsolete rocket only once, with a test Orion capsule (itself another boondoggle), but it has kept the lights on at favored contractors in the meantime.

A) Justin didn't sign that contract, but whoever did (guessing Harper) would have been pressured into it anyway regardless of what makes sense for Canada, because not only jobs in every state but also make other countries dependent on and controlled by the US, which was policy ("hearts and minds") until recently. Now it's "we don't need them", so options open up. B) Having been recently laid off by a toad that reminds me a lot of an archetypal Republican, I'll take one of those jobs.

Electronics Faire at Temple was full of tiny delights. It was super cool learning about the history of BASIC games to bring coding to the people with @exquisitecorp and the history of other networks with an emphasis on arts and play with @loriemerson. The day ended with some atmospheric and intimate low db performances. The first one was by i ❤ files (Clara Venice & Zsofi Valyi-Nagy) who were sending us electronic care waves with a commentary on sexism in the electronic music industry. You dive in the deep end and draw human faces the objectively hardest thing to draw because our brains are finely tuned to read faces.
I like both of these drawing. The second one is more sophisticated in how the light and shadow are rendered. But I love the boldness of the glasses on the first one.
