Why Crakow Shoes fell out of Fashion: (See Hennenberger p. 279.) At the end of the 15th century, Prussia was very fond of high fashions. Crakow, or “beaked” shoes with very long tips were especially popular. One had a tip with a length of one finger, another one with a length of a span, the tip of the third one was half an ell long, and so forth, however they pleased.
