Just hours after #Trump called for the #impeachment of a federal judge who ruled against his #deportation of hundreds of Venezuelans over the weekend, & after Trump's comments targeting Judge #Boasburg spurred a rare public rebuke from #SCOTUS Chief Justice #JohnRoberts, #HouseRepublicans led by Rep #BrandonGill introduced articles of impeachment against Boasberg.

#GOP *lawmakers* have unleashed an unprecedented flood of long-shot #impeachment articles aimed at federal judges who are standing in the way of #Trump's agenda.

James #Boasberg, chief judge of the DC District Court, is at least the fifth federal judge who is facing a #HouseRepublicans impeachment attempt after issuing a ruling unfavorable to the admin.

¡Larga vida a #Neopaquita! 😎

Autoritarian fascism at its best. However, US people seem to try "overcoming" this by waiting for the end of Trumps presidential term as if he is ignoring the law, the courts and everyone opposing is childish views but is going to abide the law when it comes to leave the oval office. I don't know what's sillier ... being Trump or believing in oneself being able to sit and wait for it to end as an expression of "resistance".

in reply to George Takei 🏳️‍🌈🖖🏽

He's veteran and very intelligent, and I'd vote for him in a heartbeat for president. He's fair, balanced, and not 'too' anything. He's not a token anything, or 'run of the mill' either. He's a good man, period.

Not saying it was the case here, almost certainly not, but…I wouldn’t be surprised to see Tesla dealerships doing this to themselves in the coming months, committing insurance fraud because they expect the payout to be better than the resale value — and/or just because they’re trying to flee the sinking ship.

@JessTheUnstill
I continue to be terrified that some malicious actor would actually do this to all the Teslas in the country or the world, which would cause just extra extraordinary death and environmental damage. And I really hope that somebody instead executes some less life-threatening hack first (like say rendering them all undrivable and immobile), which would both tank the company and raise the alarm bell. Because the practical consequences of what somebody could do right now are simply terrifying.
in reply to Paul Cantrell

I don't think tesla dealerships are like regular dealerships, ie, an independent company that sells products from another company and is left holding the bag if the supplier does something stupid.

I believe (but could be wrong) that they are are all owned by Tesla itself. And Tesla appears to already have committed fraud in clean car rebates in Canada, so I would expect insurance fraud here.

The other explanation besides what Feldman said is that maybe the people in charge are just colossal nincompoops.

This is not mutually exclusive with Feldman’s theory. Nor is it mutually exclusive with the fascists’ strategy working.

None of these problems are going to fix themselves.

With respect, this is more true in this case and Perkins Coie v. Trump than the rest, because Trump has cloaked himself in these two cases with claims of acting to serve national security, an interest the Roberts Court is especially protective of. 1/ @inthehands

They •should• be concerned. Whether enough of them •are•, well….

Roberts will drag his feet to the bitter end, but like you, I’d bet on him ultimately trying to restrain the admin, however weakly. Does that get us to 5 in case after case after case? Not so sure about that.

The image depicts a scene from an animated series featuring a group of characters standing in front of a group of large, menacing dragons. The dragons are diverse in color and design, with a blue dragon on the left, a red dragon in the center, a black dragon with a long neck, a yellow dragon, and a green dragon on the right. The characters are dressed in various outfits, including armor and robes, and appear to be in a battle-ready stance. The background is dark, emphasizing the figures in the foreground. At the bottom of the image, there is text that reads, "Lemme tell you kids what it was like to fight Tiamat back in my day." The overall composition suggests a dramatic confrontation between the characters and the dragons.

I’ve posted a detailed explanation of why the claimed ESP32 Bluetooth chip “backdoor” is not a backdoor. It’s just a poor security practice, which is found in other Bluetooth chips by vendors like Broadcom, Cypress, and Texas Instruments too. darkmentor.com/blog/esp32_non-…
in reply to Xeno Kovah

I don't think your hypothetical "compromised userspace" scenario applies to the ESP32 in any practical usage. These are integrated chips (think "Bluetooth+WiFi+Arduino-on-a-chip") where the the user host code runs on the same chip, I think even in the same address space. So if that is compromised, the Bluetooth side is compromised regardless of the existence of the vendor commands.

In principle you could use an ESP32 as an external Bluetooth controller exposing HCI of course, and then the concern would apply, but I don't know why anyone would do that when dedicated Bluetooth chips designed to be used as HCI dongles exist. And then most of those have the same issues anyway...

The Bluetooth ecosystem is an unmitigated disaster.

How have we gotten to the point where this is an "extraordinary statement". Should it not be the norm that the Executive Branch or Legislative Branch cannot call for a removal of the Judicial Branch just because they disagree with them?

That's totally awesome. I have never been able to find a watch again with pebble's unique featureset.
