CTV: Tesla removed from Vancouver Auto Show
"...“The Vancouver International Auto Show has removed Tesla as a participant in this week’s event, after the automaker was provided multiple opportunities to voluntarily withdraw,” said Eric Nicholl, the show’s executive director, in a statement.
“The Vancouver Auto Show’s primary concern is the safety of attendees, exhibitors, and staff. This decision will ensure all attendees can be solely focused on enjoying the many positive elements of the event.”.."

This is very interesting:
There’s been a couple of anti-Tesla protests locally. And a few more are planned
But still pretty low key: “standing outside the dealership” 🪧
For them to remove #Tesla from a major event like that is a sign they’re taking the #TeslaTakedown actions very seriously
Or #BC #Canada may be looking for its own ways to apply pressure against Trump’s aggressive policies
Targeting #Tesla is a team sport
@AccordionBruce @kevinrns
I suspect this is more standard corporate ass-covering.
They don't want any protests or protesters, regardless of whether they're peaceful or not. Protests make the exhibition look bad, and that makes all exhibitors look bad.
Kicking Tesla out to forestall protests would just seem an obvious business decision. Boring, but predictable.

The KENT Single Paddle Morse Key Kit
KENT CW Morse Keys. Iambic Twin, single paddle and hand keys with precision ball race bearings. Micro precision contact adjustment, available assembled or kit form.www.kent-engineers.com
I can't believe that less than half a year ago, I got my ham radio license only because morse code is no longer required, and couldn't imagine why anyone who sent CW wanted more than one key — and now I have purchased two keys, printed another I wasn't satisfied with, designed my own 3d-printed key, and am pondering coming up with my own design to machine from metal as well.
I've also cranked up my call sign copy practice to 20WPM which means I'm not getting them all, but I no longer expect it to be December before I can copy 20WPM comfortably.
@smellsofbikes Thank you! Once I got to the point that I could run morse code head copy practice while commuting, I started learning faster. Also, now I look forward more to days I work from the office because I get almost an hour of drill in driving to and from the office! 🎉

Rescued her at about 8 mo. old, and she's gone from super scaredy-cat to mother of six kids to one of the happiest cats ever. The male southern elephant seal’s nose or proboscis is an inflatable organ. It’s used to warn other males during mating season and roaring.
Southern elephant seals can hold their breath for two hours and dive nearly 7,000 feet, which is about the same depth as a sperm whale.
Southern elephant seals mostly eat squid, mollusks, krill, cephalopods, and algae but with their deep dives it’s hard to know for sure.
