TIL that some Unicode-implementations have a "bug" (peculiarity) with one specific Turkish character. The character in question is LATIN CAPITAL LETTER I WITH DOT ABOVE.
There are two special characters in Turkish alphabet:
ı-LATIN SMALL LETTER DOTLESS Iİ-LATIN CAPITAL LETTER I WITH DOT ABOVE
When you convert the lower-case character to its uppercase version, it HAS TO BECOME your usual I: LATIN CAPITAL LETTER I
And when you convert the upper-case character to its lower-case version, it HAS TO BECOME your usual i: LATIN SMALL LETTER I
But Javascript (and macOS in general, just so that you know it ain't a JS-issue) converts the İ to i̇ + DOT ABOVE, i.e. it converts it to a composed character consisting of two unicode code-points, which is wrong, because the first code-point s already correct.
