โ€œWhen Chancellor Heinrich Brรผningโ€™s government declared a long bank holiday on July 13, 1931, after a run on the banks following the collapse of the Darmstรคdter and Nationalbank, the economic crisis began to hit home. There was a โ€œ9% salary reductionโ€ for civil servants [..] and higher value-added taxes for consumers"

Just makes you wonder: Is Trump, Heritage, et al trying to force an economic collapseโ€“force Americans into poverty, immiseration like this..?
Remember, Biden handed over a strong, burgeoning, enviable economy to Trump in January. And in 3 short months, Trump - Musk - Heritage have fired civil servants, prices up, tariffs are taxes on consumers. It feels sinister.

Good Sunday to you all. I hope your Saturday was a good one. May your Sunday bring another day of rest if you need it, fun if you want it, and just general all around peacefulness. Don't forget to nap if you need to. Be well. Stay safe. Do good things.

Delete! Delete! Delete! The FCC asked what regulations should be deleted from its books. Is it good for broadcast radio? Bad for hams? What would we delete?

My Dad and I discussed it over on Geerling Engineering: youtube.com/watch?v=LCd-vplPVDโ€ฆ

in reply to Jeff Geerling

for us as wireless community mesh network people with @freifunk for instance, #DFS is still a big problem, we still can't use 5GHz outdoor for a #MeshNetwork. I'm wondering if the #FCC were to delete DFS if maybe this could lead to some rethinking here in Europe with the #ETSI or in Germany with the @BNetzA, too.
in reply to Jeff Geerling

I would restore the regulations on local ownership. The internet operates on scale and Radio could still fill in the need for local interest.

Otherwise the internet is a more efficient carrier of national topics.

Well, the only people whoโ€™ll hire him (and Cuba Gooding jr.) are Epoch Media, the right-wing Falun Gong cult company that puts out their phony newspaper full of pro-Trump, anti-China propaganda, and send their dance troupe Shen Yun around the country.

Today's Meme Stream is dedicated to the most obsessive retriever that I have ever known...

Rosie, my cat from forty years ago!

Her favorite toy was the red super-bouncy ball from a game of Jacks.

She'd fetch it when I would throw it, and then aggressively yell for me to throw it again. Dozens and dozens of times!

I'd get tired before she ever did.

One of the group homes where I worked had a stray that showed up and this cat could catch a small treat no matter how hard, or lobbed or crookedly you tossed it. Snatched it right out of the air with her paw.

njal / njal.la

I often get more than a few people who message me about this site, so I thought to make a public post, that I can reference if needed in the future.

The site is owned by one of the previous co-founders of the Pirate Bay. The homepage claims, Costa Rica, but the documentation claims keep changing (at one time, it read, Nigeria), while the site is hosted in Sweden, and the owner is daring people to shut them down, just like they did with the Pirate Bay. njal.la/blog
I do not take this company seriously, and neither should anyone else.

Although their homepage reads, Costa Rica, even Wikipedia notes, Sweden at the moment. And, of course, you can learn about their association with the Pirate Bay. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Njalla

While the goal of the project is to find and list providers outside Us Jurisdiction, I would like to stick to providers that are well established and can overall be trusted. Arguably, anyone, can lease (rent) a web server, and manage their own VPN. If you have the skills, you do not actually need a VPN Provider, and technically, you could offer VPN services to others. But I am not looking to make a list of every "random" who has done so. And of the well known businesses that we may add, I want them to be generally respected and trustworthy.

I am not necessarily to trying to be the moral and ethics police, here, but I do want to know the providers recommended appear to have a likely long-term future with mostly satisfied customers.

the customer that bought dhlsucks.com through them is probably satisfied tho: njal.la/blog/dhlsucks/ ๐Ÿ˜‹

odd that Trump hasn't sacked him yet. He was pretty quick to sack people last time, or does he not care anymore?
