I'm an ex-physicist and IMO you want a burner phone that looks exactly a generic burner phone. Any souped-up one would draw more attention which would be bad

No.

“ #Trump did not rule out the possibility of seeking a 3rd term, which is prohibited by the Constitution under the 22nd Amendment, saying ..there were methods for doing so and clarifying that he was “not joking.”

NBC News asked about a possible scenario in which #JDVance would run for office and then pass the role to Trump. Trump responded that “that’s one” method.”

FreeCAD Telemetry addon is now available
Chris Hennes developed an opt-in Telemetry addon to help the development team make good decisions and help answer questions like:

How many people are affected by a given bug?

How many people are running an addon that may be affected by an API change?

Which platforms are the most popular and should receive the most development support?

Now I can advocate for this sort of optional addons for telemetry collection. Its so much better than having it collect by default!

Another portrait. Two Arri tungsten lights, one at 90° with a softbox and one at 45° without, but aiming at the hair. No gels this time. There was also a reflector but I forgot to move it for this pose so it's kind of irrelevant.

30 March 1934 | A French Jew, Marc Ast, was born in Reims.

He arrived at #Auschwitz on 10 October 1943 in a transport of 1,000 Jews deported from Drancy. He was among the 491 people murdered in a gas chamber immediately after selection.

Something a bit different today:

I'd like to do a shoutout to writer and accessibility advocate Robert Kingett, who has helped lots of Fediverse projects with accessibility including BookWyrm, GoToSocial, Fedi.Tips and others.

He has done a lot for accessibility on the Fediverse, and I'd strongly recommend sending Robert a donation if you can (I've just done so). His donation links are at:

Kingett has been kind enough to support my work as well. He's a top-notch writer, I enjoyed his memoir Pass the Salt.

@RobotDiver @Em0nM4stodon @Crispius These comment are so tone-deaf, considering how your friend and families CONSENTED to being a part of the military operation, whereas the Afghani people NEVER had that chance.

The discussion about Danes being good allies and not them being complicit in the suffering of the people in the global South speaks volume.

Mastodon is a cesspool of developed-world narcissist. Stop making it all about yourself, citizens of the imperial-core.

@RecurringBloatware Thanks for your reaction!

I totally agree with your assessment of this being a tone-deaf comment.
This too much of a neocolonialism mentality. Make your mind!
I wish we have more people on the fediverse to point that out.

That said, I sincerely empathize with the people who lost relatives on the Danes side too.
This is hardly an enlightened choice from those who get engaged.

It's time for us, people, to stop believe in so called "elite" and stand for ourselves (cross-boundaries)!

Wow, 10m is hopping from eastern US to Europe this morning. My family Technician (soon-to-be General!) #HamRadio operator just logged 10 SSB DX calls in the CQ World Wide WPX Contest all in the 28.3-28.5MHz Technician band, including his longest DX yet. 🎉
in reply to Michael K Johnson

When I activate a #POTA reference on 10 m, I always call CQ inside the Technician section of the band. I think @dc1tc gave me the hint.
in reply to Peter DL6PL

@DL6PL @dc1tc Folks doing that are why he made his requisite ten contacts in his first POTA activation attempt, which was at least half park-to-park activations — of which one QSO was a first POTA activation for both operators. ❤️

Super encouraging for new hams!

I'm very very new to POTA myself. I've been planning to activate mostly CW, but maybe I should also throw out some SSB CQs on that part of 10m as a matter of course, to help the next new hams have fun. And if I'm on 15, 40, or 80m I can choose the Tech CW parts of those bands, too. 🤔

And another good thing that happened to me yesterday was that my hackers.town Ukraine fund-raiser t-shirt arrived and was waiting in my mailbox when I got home last night! So proud to wear this shirt out and about today!

Adding array definitions to the #Quiche #Compiler

An array boils down to a bounds and an element type. For multidimensional arrays the 'inner' element type is itself an array definition.

The parser for this works recursively which gives an elegantly simple solution (although the actual code is a little gnarly given the syntaxes). Parsing the bounds is parsing a type definition (of a suitable enumerable type). Parsing the element type means parsing another array definition.

in reply to Bread80

Each bounds results in a new, anonymous, type definition of type SubRange.
Each (Bounds, Element) pairing results in a new array definition. Inner array types are again anonymous. The images lists the types created from parsing the code in the previous toot.
in reply to Bread80

All of this recursion gives tremendous flexibility. Array bounds can be any suitable enumerable type, including an enumeration declared on the fly. Similarly for the element type.

The array parsing code is less than 75 lines which can handle three syntaxes for multidimensional arrays. And a fair portion of the code which is error handling from deeper functions.
