Really, @EUCommission? It's great that you are here on Mastodon, but why not show it proudly instead of linking out only to those Big-Tech-Silos?

@_elena, me and other people at #PubConf25 thought, you should change that please.

Will you?

Thank you for the toot Björn.

Dear @EUCommission I have been regularly checking your website for a YEAR now and I don’t understand why you keep emphasizing your presence on Big Tech platforms. I wish you would change your digital strategy and give more importance to platforms that don’t come out of Silicon Valley and aren’t vulnerable to manipulation or are subjected to opaque algorithms.

If you promoted your presence on the Fediverse it would send such a powerful message.

Here’s the story but it’s full of lies. Sen. Padilla did not “storm” the podium. He announced that he is a senator when they began to manhandle him. And he had been brought into the room by the FBI and National Guard so he could hear Noem’s briefing. thehill.com/.../5347587-alex-p…

#hostilearchitecture like this really doesn't stop someone from sleeping here.

I know this because I've slept on some, because when you're tired and cold enough, you'll sleep on just about anything other than the ground which acts like an infinite heat sink, and you're more likely to get weird bugs on you.

So you learn to sleep in weird positions, and be uncomfortable, and instead of a normal looking bench, you end up with dumbass ones like this one in #losangeles.

How the ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ positions US energy to be more costly for consumers and the climate

"The 1,100-page bill would slash incentives for green technologies such as solar, wind, batteries, electric cars and heat pumps while subsidizing existing nuclear power plants and biofuels. That would leave the country and its people burning more fossil fuels despite strong popular and scientific support for a rapid shift to renewable energy."

in reply to CelloMom On Cars

"In a week when the Trump administration moved forward on multiple fronts to repeal U.S. climate policies, a new analysis quantified the potential costs for public health, households and the economy—including a stunning $1.1 trillion reduction in U.S. gross domestic product by 2035."

The question is always:
WHO gains, and
WHO loses from a rule change?

E.g. Zeldin "stressed alleged economic benefits: $20 billion over the next 20 years in reduced costs to the power plant industry.

But even the EPA’s own figures show $130 billion in increased public health costs. These include premature death, heart and lung disease, asthma attacks and increased hospitalizations due to air pollutants like fine particulate matter and ozone."

Not a Dry Seat In The House

Depending upon where the people filming sat, the greeting was either thunderous booing drowning-out the applause or an equal amount. Our pals at Electoral-Vote even have a piece up on it: "The current show at the Kennedy is Les Miserables, and Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, VP J.D. Vance, and Second Lady Usha Vance were all in attendance. We will note, for the sake of completeness, that Trump did get some cheers.
