I don’t know a ton about faraday bags. But if I’m in a situation where I want my phone to be inert and useless, is it enough to power it off?
I can’t imagine situations where a faraday bag is required, and I think I might pull it out of the bag for something. Seems to me I would just keep it in the bag the whole time, so I might as well turn it off.
Are there threats to powered off phones that are not in faraday bags? I am asking because I don’t know, not because I’m doubting or challenging.
Seems like a good reason to make consumer protection laws that define “powered off” and require it to be possible.

Collette and I spent an hour while on vacation to let our voices be heard.
I didn’t have permission to post photos, but I was thrilled to see at least 5 protesters with American flags! It’s our flag too!
The two are not the same at all.
