The tubular connector on top looks like a car cigarette lighter plug. Back when cars came with lighters. Some still come with the power points but no push-in-and-get-red-hot lighter bit.
@scuttlebutt yeah the arch shaped bit is a removable adapter for plugging the airline thing into a car. As I recall it gave enough to power the laptop but not charge the battery.
