Double stitch means two parallel rows of stitching for added strength. One where the seam should be. One in the seam allowance.
Usually, the collar comes next.
The collar is where you are sewing a scoop to a straight.
Clipping the seam is so the smaller scoop edge won't pull when turned.
Press the collar before moving on to sleeves.
