- my mom takes meds on an odd/even basis... 3 on odd days and 4 on even days... so on the 19th 3, on the 20th 4 and on the 21st 3 etc... don't care what 'math' says. ๐คทโโ๏ธ

I, too, think it can hinge on the context it's used in.
A number, no matter which one it is, doesn't have to equate to a defined mathematical value. A street address (odd/even parking laws), a medicine schedule (as Nth day in double digit dates), and the origin point of a graph whether or not there are positive or negative plot points.
Put zero, or 0, into a different context, and it might end up as any one of the 4 choices.
