Awdah Hathaleen, a Palestinian activist and journalist who helped make the Oscar-winning documentary No Other Land, has been killed during an attack by Israeli settlers in the south Hebron hills, prompting a wave of condemnation of what was described as state impunity for Israeli settler violence.
A video captured on Monday appears to show an Israeli settler, Yinon Levi, who was put under sanctions by the US president Joe Biden then removed from the sanctions list by Donald Trump, firing his gun wildly at residents of the village of Umm al-Khair at the time of the killing.
He was arrested by Israeli police for questioning, but was later released on house arrest while an investigation continued.

I like the differentiate between "politics" and "governance."
One term is related to solving the world's problems. The other term is about who gets to sit in the high chairs.

You could look up “what is politics?” as a podcast listening to 50 minute discourses are something that you’re cool with.

Well, specifically, the way the host is first name is Daniel. That’s as much as he gives away of his name defines politics being and specifically government.
Politics is decision-making in groups
Government are social organizations that make and enforce rules.

The first thing to be said about politics is an old friend of mine. Tarley remarked many decades ago is politics rises when there are three or more people because because then you have to deal with people’s perceptions and their decisions to ally or contest.
But his definition of government also includes corporations. They are organizations that make and enforce rules governing people’s lives in that organization.

But it’s his definition of left and right, which goes straight back to the original context the terms were coined in, and how he simplifies left and right down to equality versus hierarchy.
Left and right are defined in terms of those fighting for equality of decision making or those fighting for hierarchy.

He is defining left and right as a specific analytical scalpel rather than being the product of his historical artifact since the French revolution.
