It's psychological. Everything in our life is. (I have my fears too.)
Knowing that you're surrounded by rock, including a layer, many feet thick above you, bothers some people. In spite of there being much more room in these show caves than in most houses.

There literally is no alternative, and 'm not talking about network effects. Everybody else wants money up front. I don't monetize my writing and am broke af. And I don't know how to code well enough (or at all) to self-host.
