CBC News did a segment yesterday on the backlash against the installation of a public art piece called Trans Am Rapture at a new location (NIMBYism is part of the complaint). The first photo I'm including here is of the art piece itself, and the second is the thumbnail for the YouTube video of the news segment.
The video doesn't contain the thumbnail image at all, and given its yellowish tone and ugly claymation-esque aesthetics I expect it's AI slop. Reverse image search didn't point me to anything else.
I have no idea why CBC would do this rather than use an image of the actual artwork. Vancouverites would recognize the art immediately. Does the slop generate more clicks?
You also can't comment on CBC YouTube videos to complain about it, which is awfully convenient for them.

Someone at CBC might have gotten confused when preparing the preview.

I assumed the thumbnail was of one of his smaller pieces, as shown around him in the interview, but I didn't see that exact one and now that you mention possible slop I Have Concerns.
