obviously this is not going to be across the board in the midterms, but in general a 21 point swing would completely overwhelm any possible gerrymander (Rs would probably do worse after a gerrymander with that kind of swing, if I understand how these things work.)

People Exposed to Climate Change: June-August 2025 | Climate Central
A seasonal analysis of how climate change boosted temperatures worldwide between June and August 2025www.climatecentral.org
It’s not my intention to minimise the risk of the situation or the pain of others, but we in the Global South have been facing risky heat since ever, and no one has ever cared about us.
Still, I just find it curious that Europeans are getting sick from temperate weather that, for us, is a spring Sunday.

Eyes upward, facing mysteries of stars and heavens
Heart lightened, to more merry, merry be
I lighten the load to my aching shoulders, and find
worlds of light and joy easier to carry
I look to ancient wisdoms to enlighten my soul
And I laugh, lightly, brightly,
let loose too tightly inheld breath of
fear/hate/judgment.
Breathing freely, I inhale
the exhilarating scent of changing leaves

Because they consume energy. Less energy than their car, their flights, their air-conditioner, and their videogame console. (I know, I calculated it)

I know this sounds crazy, but sometimes it’s nice to hear differing points of view and then use critical thinking to synthesize one’s own views.

in reply to laydros • • •@laydros Yeah; one of the reasons I am still on multiple social networks.
There's a massive echo chamber effect for not only tech and politics, but lifestyle, media consumption, etc. and if I just stuck to one of X/Bsky/Fedi/'Metaverse'/[insert whatever here], I would not see the patterns that seem to drive a lot of discourse.
But a constant battle of introspection.
