I think he has a point. The massive problem here, which of course isn't mentioned in the article because that would go against BBC editorial guidelines, is #Brexit.
There was a time when there was no such thing as the "UK market" for drugs. Just the EU market. Now that the UK market is tiny, it's entirely rational for pharma companies not to spend money on it unless they can be sure of good returns.

Been trialling out Xcode Intelligence (ChatGPT) vs Cursor (Claude), both for Swift. So far, not impressed with Xcode.
Ive had queries go in a loop asking for the same project context, generated code not making much sense (that’s the model tbf), and when queries time out part way through I cannot continue them again.
That last point is a biggie. I can overlook most issues, but with my poor internet connection I gotta rely on being able to continue after a timeout.

They are not a lawful enough country to have an income tax that works. So, like many countries, they sell nationalized resources to fund the government.
