I cleaned the hedgehog bowl, and refilled it with fresh kibbles and hedgehog crack (dried insect larvae).

Uneaten kibbles got dumped into the kitty's kibble dish. Any larvae bits that remain don't seem to bother them.

There are drainage holes in the dish because usually they're put outside, where they could get rained upon. We're under the upstairs neighbor's balcony, so I don't worry about it.

Just a few more logs! 💪

My oldest chainsaw (Oleo-Mac 942) is the most reliable one. It smokes a bit and the carb needs re-tuning for the weather, but it starts every time and saws fast (if you keep the chain sharp).

Splitting black alder by axe is easy. But the occasional piece of maple tells me why people buy splitting machines.

Next some carting off and stacking, but I still need to sort through my concrete beam collection first to find a few more to stack the wood on.

All done with this very reasonably priced Geko 2 kg long handle splitting axe. It has lost some paint from the top but there's no wobble. And nobody had to get a bank loan for a Fiskars axe.

Gave it a clean, sharpen and some oil before hanging it up. Until next time!

i think fiskars have teflon coating, and it splits a bit nicer. After coating gone - axe as any other axe.
It's not a scientific fact, just we with coworkers got this conclusion.

This thing did all the sawing. Oleo-Mac 942 from Italy. The sticker says 1997, so not quite 30 years old.

It came with the farm, broken like most things. I got some bits from a parts breaker and fixed it up. It's a little worn here and there and the vibration absorbers are going floppy but it starts realiably and runs well.

It's good to have a smaller saw for this kind of job, less loud, easier to handle and no strong kickback if you do mess up or hit an ingrown nail, as I have twice now (the old man loved to put nails everywhere, including trees).

An old chainsaw in grey and orange-red. The label is barely readable and could probably make out Oleo-Mac 942. It's a little dirty and dusty from use and there's a crack in the air filter cover next to a missing sticker space. The pull cord has been replaced with some high tech sailboat rope. The orange bar cover is from a dead Stihl saw. All the warning labels have fallen off long ago, leaving the saw undecorated.

i have bought electric chainsaw to demolish barn. ~33€ okko chinesium from senukai. It did the job. Sure, i can't bring it to the forest, but for yard works it's enough.
Also it silent compared to any gasoline real chainsaw.
