Te he escrito un mail con una duda importante, lo he hecho en castellano, y requiero resolver la duda sin tener que correr el riesgo de ambiguedades ni malas traducciones automáticas. ¿No puedes contestarme en el mismo puto idioma en que te he escrito?

mala educación supongo en todos lados existe. Si el hilo o email va en francés lo ideal es contestar en Francés.
En general salvo que alguien no sepa un idioma el hilo principal marca en que se hablará.
A mi me pasa en el fediverso que algunas veces me contestan en japonés. Intento hasta donde puedo traducir pero ... queda raro.

A mi tampoco me molesta mucho en conversaciones poco formales hablar en el idioma que sea. Pero quizás Ulises buscaba como bien ha dicho evitar ambigüedades.
No obstante el que habla en castellano en tus hilos podría considerarse de mala educación. Me refiero a que lo mismo a ti no te molesta pero a otra gente que abre en catalán si le moleste y no lo entienda.
@fanta @Comely Las administraciones de las CCAA y Entidades Locales con lengua cooficial propia tienen que contestar en castellano si el interesado así lo desea (incluso si es residente allí).
No es cuestión de educación, es que es una obligación de acuerdo a las leyes de procedimiento administrativo, tanto para procesos administrativos, como para comunicaciones o notificaciones.

Aquí la diferencia radica en, hay una forma NATIVA y OFICIAL de comunicarse sin problema, común a ambos individuos y una forma de comunicarse que para uno de los dos no es NATIVA para ambos, (asturiano vs catalan).
Llamalo como quieras, si a mi me pasa esto, pongo una reclamación porque estoy en mi derecho a que se me atienda en una lengua oficial que pueda entender.
Si fossim a Suïssa, Bèlgica o Canadà, no tendríem aquest debat. El principi de territorialitat de la llengua és el que mana.
Per això potser hi ha molta gent que veu que la solució passa per tenir un estat propi. I s'acaba el debat.
Però ni una cosa ni l'altra. Els "indígenes" som cada vegada menys i en quatre dies, com diu en @Comely, el català ja serà història.
