But how do we know?
Apple's new call recording feature announces the recording and periodically sounds a chime. I've been using it with some financial related calls lately.
But obviously this is voluntary.
Do I, now, have to ask the other person if they're using Neon to record the call? What if they lie? What are even my legal protections? What about states with all party consent?
Well, obviously they could just be lying, but I'd presume that Neon hooks into whatever call api each platform uses, gets the incoming or outgoing phone number, checks if it's in their database of users, and then enables or disables recording.
@sexybenfranklin I suspect it could be done with metadata exchange through whatever calling app they put in place, or whatever. It's certainly possible to make it work this way.
But these AI companies have done some shitty things to get their data.
I'm seeing if I can find their policy on recordings. If it's in actual documented policy and they violate it, that could actually get them in legal trouble.
