The news has been more than a bit grim of late, so hooray for Carbon Brief providing some genuine and really meaningful **good** news: the UK's carbon emissions in 2024 were the lowest since 1872, because demand for fossil fuels just keeps decreasing.
yes the UK government has made good progress. I just wish that the UK public was allowed to participate. It feels much more like the government is ‘doing to’ than ‘doing with’. The policy barriers and costs for the public to decarbonise are frankly ludicrous. We are effectively barred from getting off of gas ourselves. Public transportation is dire and expensive. No cycle paths. All feels very toxic.
@bignose Since the results of these tag searches are implicitly a directory of results, you could make it so that 'wiki/foo/' was a tag search and 'wiki/foo' was a page. In practice you'd never want to use tags as page titles, and where there was no page and there was a tag of the name, you could HTTP redirect 'wiki/foo' to 'wiki/foo/' to be friendly.
(Yes I do think about this too much due to my eccentric wiki-software, which doesn't do quite this but has similar issues.)
This seems oddly specific. I'd be surprised if anything worked exactly like that.
You can construct something that uses / as a pseudo directory structure in #TiddlyWiki . Then use a view template to display the root of the tree as a tree. And you can use a permalink to open up that branch immediately.
TW will also let you build a TOC out of tags tagging tags, which is actually a better data structure to work with.

Right after the Zelensky thing kicked off and a bunch of the usual jackasses started braying about his dress choices, someone asked on reddit whether the president's choice of attire is a matter of law or not. It's a reasonable-enough question, given how _consistently_ presidents dress, even across such wildly different personalities as Obama and Trump.
I wrote a brief answer - "no" - with some detail, doing a bit of a dive into how bin Salman dresses in different circumstances to ensure that he is seen _as a leader_ while also seen as being on the same social page as the people he's meeting with, for example.
And the whole time, in the back of my head, I was thinking "Donald J. Trump has materially and permanently altered mens fashion by being so pig-headed about his suits never fitting correctly that wearing a poorly-fitted suit with that colour scheme is now a way to borrow power by association, and you're worried about _Zelensky_?!"
Also, imagine being a would-be autocrat at the head of one of the wealthiest nations on earth, and _not_ dressing with at least as much savvy as the Crown Prince of Saud. With that kind of access, you can just pay someone to be fashionable on your behalf, and it'll work.

recently finished the Children of time trilogy. The first book was pretty good but went downhill from there. Not sure why I even bought the third book. Maybe hoping it would get better. Three body problem trilogy is great if you haven’t already read it. Skip the terrible Netflix series tho.
