I’ve really been trying to be cognizant of not saying that, or “Why don’t you just…”, or “All you have to do is…”
These kinds of statements do not promote consideration of trade offs when discussing new ideas. There’s nothing wrong with new ways of doing things if the net result is more positive than the old way. If the consensus is that the risks of the new way outweigh the potential benefits, that can be a calculated decision made by the group, not just outright rejection based on one person’s opinion.
