I have a few dozens of Trello boards where I add and sort any German folk tales that are relevant not just for my current WIP, but all future ones.
I also maintain a lengthy Google Docs file where I add research notes about relevant information from folklore books or any other relevant sources.
Neither of these are relevant to the _structure_ of my books, but I do try to incorporate as much from these as possible.
