We finally got #SissyCat down to her weight class. She was 2-pounds over weight at the worse. She is 4OZ under what her top weight could be but within the range, still.
It was not an easy task converting her from grazing to a regular diet plan with structured eating times. It took months and we almost gave up more than once.
At first, we had to feed her like 8 times a day in smaller portions and slowly skip feedings, stretching the time out.
What seemed to do the trick was, getting a small cookie jar and putting dry food in it and when she would get antsy about her bowl being empty or low and would start getting into trouble, just give her a few bits to satisfy her.
She got so troubled, that when we introduced wet food, she finally took to it. She refused wet for years.
She seems much happier now and a lot more active. Now we are down to two meal times per day with some spontaneous treats (her dry food) here and there
