One thing I have noticed about the shootings in Minnesota: no statement from the White House condemning the violence. Not even crickets.

Update about my pixel art app, Dottie, I've been adding feature by feature, a couple every evening. Brush size, dither painting with specified percentage, animated preview, and much more! Oh, and an icon 😘

what do i use for my home server?

i am not very interested in availability monitoring – if something breaks down, i’ll notice – and more interested in having at least a fighting chance to notice if a stranger is inside my machine

also, as far as performance is concerned, all my machines are basically potatoes with blinkenlights

so what do i use for monitoring

  • grafana / loki (20%, 3 votes)

Israel launches unprecedented attack on Iran days before U.S.-Iran nuclear negotiations #Palestine mondoweiss.net/2025/06/israel-…

When Mastodon or Bluesky get called an "echo chamber" it is hilarious to me, because yes, that is how this works. We don't have some corporate overlord algorithm dictating everything you see, so you are SUPPOSED to build up your own feed following the topics that specifically interest you and utilizing filters to fine tune them to be perfect for you. Why WOULDN'T you want that?

Okay, the fact that they are having a "No Tyrants" protest in London instead of "No Kings" is fucking hilarious.

No Kings, people. No Kings.

SRES276
A resolution designating June 12, 2025, as "Women Veterans Appreciation Day"

📢 Introduced in Senate

in reply to Bill Bot

Why don't we just rename April 01 to "Whiny Homophobes Day", instead of let these petulant fuckers add a day in June at a time to another fucking veteran blowjob day?

1 - May is Veteran's Appreciation Month, not that a red hat cares.
2 - North Korea has fewer military worshipping days than the US.
3 - So does Islamic State.

No Fentanyl Interdiction

California Governor Gavin Newsom accused the Trump administration of pulling National Guard troop from fentanyl interdiction efforts at the US-Mexico border. In a post on X, Newsom said the troops he had stationed to stop smuggling are now "twiddling their thumbs in LA."

Two Minnesota Democratic legislators, state senator John Hoffman state representative Melissa Hortman, have been shot in their homes by a gunman impersonating a police officer. Law enforcement officials are treating these shootings as "targeted shootings."

Violent anti-abortion activists -- there's a background there.

Republican billionaires are always in a constant search for issues that will bring allies to their scheme of moneyed bigotry.

Voting rights, civil rights, women's rights, gay rights, LGBTQ rights, seniors rights, immigrant rights.

All issues predicated on "some people matter, those others don't" & "some people deserve to have a life of leisure built on the backs of those who don't matter"

in reply to Nicole Parsons

The anti-abortion movement was built on the white supremacist premise that women, especially black women, cannot be permitted to have agency or autonomy.

The economy was to be built on voiceless & choiceless women

Impoverished women supposedly have a "biological destiny" to birth the next generation of low wage workers, in service to the rich

new copspeak just dropped

I think "authorities believe the shooter was impersonating law enforcement" is a euphemism for "the police killed this person and are going to get away with it 100%"

People miss the older #Pokémon games because they were good JRPGs, like the first couple of Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest games, period, it has nothing to do with nostalgia, in fact, shut up already about nostalgia, that's not the only reason why people like old shit, some old shit is just good.

Indian Creek Village,
the “Billionaire Bunker” near Miami,
couldn’t get approval to discharge its waste into a neighboring town’s sewer lines.

So the village quietly persuaded state lawmakers to force the issue.

In a world where billionaires are increasingly exercising political clout,
the fight over sewage in Indian Creek suggests the degree to which their influence is extending not just to policy in the White House and Congress but to some of the most foundational issues of municipal governance
