So Cait ( @oldladyplays ) and I have been talking a little back and forth on my Pete Rose thread and I went to google what the official name of the women's baseball league was called back in the 40's
And I came across thisssss!!!!
There will be six teams and opening day is scheduled for 2026!
I'm so excited I'm about to cry!

So as I dig a little about this new women's baseball league I found out each team will have a salary cap of NINETY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!
95K FOR THE ENTIRE TEAM.
FUCKING BULLSHIT!
They're only playing for a month of regulars season games, an all-star game and then two weeks of playoffs.
So disappointing. Now I'm really going to cry. I mean I get it. It's a new league. Interest has to be established but for just four weeks? C'mon. Gives us some women's baseball for a few months!!!
I was just reading about this because Mo'ne Davis from that Philadelphia Little League team that was in the LLWS in 2014 has now graduated college, got a Masters degree, and is going to try out for the league! She hasn't played baseball in a few years now, she played softball in college.
