New, by me: Google refused to say if it received a secret UK court order, like Apple did, demanding the company build a backdoor for accessing encrypted user data.
Meta said it hasn't received one. Apple said it's barred from disclosing if it had one (it has!).
Google tried to dodge the question, and refused to explicitly state if it had not received a UK backdoor demand.

The event raises a lot of money for charity, but the event manager is a for-profit company (although from what I can tell, basically a small family-run business). In addition to entry fees, they require each team to bring in volunteers. I do not get the sense that anyone is getting rich from running H2C, but I've been wrong before.
The motorcycle patrol, which was sort of an ad-hoc thing for years, is now organized by a nonprofit group.
