I find my taste for old things very hard to explain to people. I'm super enthusiastic about the idea that this is one of the very first yuri games, that this is the first version of Grimm's tales, that this is the movie series that cemented the sukeban trope, that this is the Ancient Greek pronunciation of the name or the Heian Japanese tones (my area of research).
but most people I know are completely indifferent to old things, and I cannot explain why I am so hyped about it. it just feels self-evident to me, look at this tea ceremony catalogue this book is from the Edo period!! and I just *have* it??
and then some people feel like me and understand exactly why I'm excited about it, without any explanation on my part. it's one or the other, either they instantly get why old things are cool, or it makes no sense to them.
