@juergen_hubert ja aber es sieht bislang ja auch nicht danach aus, daß dann was besseres kommt. Und mir geht es vor allem darum auszudrücken, daß ich nicht dafür zu haben bin, sich einfach nur bis an die Zähne zu bewaffnen, aber alles, das man mit diesen Waffen sinnvoll verteidigen könnte, dafür über Bord zu werfen.

If my insurance agent could see the shit I get up to in my home, I don't think he'd be quite so nice to me.

But hey! Project complete! We got the giant 36" Trinitron in the loft, and with only one new scratch and one smashed finger. Everything is still sort of pulled apart but you can get a general idea of the layout. His and hers PCs and TVs on either end, with the CRT and retro consoles in the center (less strain on the controller cables and makes split screen co-op easier).

Well... Not quite complete. I still have to reattach the tinted panels, rework all the power/AV cables, install all the consoles, disassemble and remove the hoist, put the couch back, and clean.

But this was the hard part!

Leute was soll ich sagen... Ich bin gerade im Schrank über dieses schriftliche Gold gestolpert. Wahnsinnig lustig aus heutiger Sicht, und teilweise erschreckend aktuell! 😅

Es gibt zum Beispiel eine tolle Seite über die Qualität von Passwörtern... Das Ding ist von 2000... Es hat sich nur so mittelviel getan... Der beste Satz in Bezug auf schlechte Passwörter: "Da freut sich der Hacker!"

by trisscar368 | started out reading a fantasy novel. A simple police procedural in a city far away, that straddles an old slow river. But no, it was about ethics. It was about knowing the difference between what's allowed, what's legal, and what's right. And that fairly often those three don't line up. Or it was about gender politics. About the first person in a society willing to step up and say “You've called me by this name, and this pronoun, all my life. But that isn't me. This is me. No, we don't even have that pronoun yet, but this is still me.” Or it was about racism. That constant social whine of “well, everybody knows what they're like.” The blame game that's based on the whispered mutterings that never have a source, and always boil down to “I'm terrified because they are different. I'm terrified because when I look at them, for a second there | can see myself in their eyes and if I was wrong, then all I've said and done...” It was about giving voices to the voiceless, and hearing how much they've been trying to say this whole time. It was about what it means to be human. I always start out reading a fantasy novel when it comes to Pratchett. And somehow it ends up in a moral philosophy lesson from a professor with a grasp of humanity that still leaves me astonished.

As someone wrote in a post AI is 90%hype and 10% useful. We have human intelligence. Using AI to compose a letter or write a book is sheer laziness and turning us into zombies. Apart from specialist data mining purposes AI serves little purpose.

Where mindless form is required "AI" is just as well an answer as non-compliance. In other words, LLMs can be a high-tech tool of sabotage for Luddites in the socio-technological realm.
