The Seattle Times "There's nothing you need to do - we've deducted the funds from LEONARD A. JOHNSON's account." Uh oh. It itemized how $5,201 had been stricken from their bank account, on the grounds that Ned wasn't justified to get those benefits - because he was dead. That was for payments he'd received in December and January. Ned found that his February Social Security check hadn't been paid, and he's yet to receive his March check, either. His Medicare insurance had been canceled. He also learned that when you die, your credit score gets marked as "deceased, do not issue credit," which makes it tough to get a loan.

Has anyone done a good analysis of how self repair could affect product liability when things go awry and someone is injured?

(This may become an even greater issue as cars get more dependent on sensors for driver assist functions. I've seen a lot of repairs made by amateurs that are downright dangerous.)

I've spent more time than I care to think about at organizations that hire the "best" people. This is usually marked by an inability to hire in a timely manner and when hiring happens the new hires are often mini-me versions of the hiring manager.

Just had to order another couple of metres of bookshelves. I've already got a 5m wide, 2m tall wall (see attachment) that does not have space to spare, and another 5 large shelves each a few meters wide... But... The piles of #books precariously stacked around the room have started to topple.

I figured this was a 1 bookshelf fix... That looks to be an underestimate... 2m wide by 1.8m tall will fit in the room and that will leave only a few small book stacks. Which is a problem for future me. Total books currently in this one room, about 2.5k.

Photograph of the large wall of books, it is densely packed. There's about 1,200 books on a wall of bookshelves, the wall is 5m wide and 2m tall, books are laid horizontally in the few gaps that exist. This barely represents half the books in this single room. We may have a problem with buying books. We don't have a problem reading books as these have all been read.

It took precisely no time at all for Orphee to turn himself into looooong cat and to start sniffing the new bookshelves.

He also jumped around and explored every shelf, but I have no pics of that which are not a blurry mess.
