How I read ISO 7010 warning signs:

isabel reshared this.

in reply to MOULE

Nobody in my family has ever referred to the road warning sign for roadworks as anything other than than "man having trouble with umbrella" from a spoof version of many signs about 50 years ago. (The rest didn't stick.)
in reply to Christopher

Not even the bumpy road one as "woman fallen over/sunbathing"

in reply to Low Quality Facts

Why do you think we find them so adorable? We are the descendants of people who found their babies too cute to just yeet them into the nearest pond for their behavior. The rational ones are no longer represented in our gene pool.

My neon cow is almost done! It needs some finishing touches. But I really like it. To be continued in two weeks. #Art

Holy smokes...

Here in #londonontario (#yxu) a girl in a ski-mask set a #Tesla on fire Monday night. Myself, I don't condone these acts of violence on people's personal property - guess she didn't know about the new Tesla building under construction in the city, now that... that could go...

[EDIT]: This is not a re-used photo from elsewhere - it is real - here is a local news article:
lfpress.com/news/local-news/lo…

[EDIT2]: From the article, it appears this was a test-drive unit for the showroom in the mall, so not personal property... carry on then..

(Very surprising it happened here in #Ontario #Canada)

I'd expect that to make the local & regional news, but I don't see any that verifies that Reddit post yet.

@dcdeejay Yes - agreed (although the paranoiac deep inside me thinks that mass media news sources owned by corps are potentially not reporting everything they could be) - this could just be a photo grabbed from somewhere else - so, not necessarily true - comments on thread are locked: reddit.com/r/londonontario/com…

Thanks for following up - I checked there before replying to you the first time and it wasn't there yet.

Cheers.

The image is a meme divided into two parts. The top part features an animated scene from an anime, showing a muscular man in a white outfit lifting another man in a blue outfit off the ground. The man in blue has a woman with blonde hair clinging to his back. The background is a clear blue sky. The text at the bottom of this part reads, "Getting mad doesn't make you stronger, that's not how it works!"

The bottom part of the image shows a close-up of a man with a serious expression, sweating, and looking to the side. The text above him reads "Barbarians." The background is blurred, with a hint of a curtain and a plant. The meme humorously contrasts the animated character's advice with the man's expression, suggesting that he might be a "barbarian" who doesn't heed the advice.

“Europe is full of technical talent, including the people who built much of the technology powering the major American cloud providers. The only issue? Much of that European talent is employed by American companies or working on open-source projects as a hobby in their attic.

The question is: how do we combine talent and funding to create a better European cloud?”

I've told every student I've taught in the last decade that you should read the Simple Sabotage Field Manual, not just so that you are able to commit these small acts of sabotage, but more importantly so you can recognize these things as deliberate sabotage, when they're being done to you.

The image shows the interior of a refrigerator with multiple shelves filled with eggs. The eggs are predominantly white, arranged neatly in rows. On the bottom shelf, there is a noticeable mix of white and brown eggs, with the brown eggs interspersed among the white ones. The eggs are uniform in size and shape, with a smooth, glossy surface. The refrigerator's interior is white, and the shelves are also white, providing a clean and organized appearance. The text at the top of the image reads: "A good DM will mix up a treasure horde to make it value appropriate for the current campaign setting..."
