1995 was such a historically turbulent year. There is so much that happened. Seriously, there's been several books written about it. I like what @ricmac has keyed on here.

why is *anyone* being sent to foreign prisons where they will be abused.

Feels like this doesn't need a wrapper of 'but they had approved paperwork!'

Trump and his gang need to be issued ICC arrest warrants for crimes against humanity. The US will never punish him because the Supreme Court gave him full immunity for presidential acts.

You know those comics about an astronaut woman nasa had to delete, likely because of the overgrown cheeto?
You can actually still download them.

I downloaded them for preservation purpose, in case they eventually are removed and become harder to find.

This week, the genetic testing company 23andMe filed for bankruptcy, which means the genetic data the company collected on millions of users is now up for sale. If you do not want your data included in any potential sale, it’s a good time to ask the company to delete it. eff.org/deeplinks/2025/03/how-…

I have a question: In Signal, imagine that a new device gets added to your phone as a Linked Device. What sort of notification would you receive on your primary device (phone)? Are there photos of the current workflow here? This article npr.org/2025/03/25/nx-s1-53398… asserts that recently Signal added UI to prevent user getting phished and unknowingly adding a linked device. What did they add?

This memo is very relevant and all, but it doesn't matter how good the end-to-end encryption is if in the end the user chooses to connect to the wrong end.

I am exploring Jami.net, seems a working p2p alternative. You can operate multiple accounts. Accounts are as anonymous as you want them to be. And you can use them ad hoc.

It’ll be on their backups. Which they will conveniently misplace. And they will be conveniently found by someone who they certainly didn’t have any contact with!

The view from the base of the lighthouse across outcroppings of deadly cliffs and a rough sea below: Nope.

Standing stones: Nope (except for one really good one).

It might need stereoscopic photos and very high resolution viewing... or just put the camera down and BE there. When it's not wet and foggy.

The image features a person with long, blonde hair styled in loose waves, wearing a dark blue textured garment and a black choker necklace. They are holding a lit cigarette in their right hand and smiling broadly at the camera. The background shows a chaotic scene with people running and a large fire, suggesting a dramatic or action-packed setting. A speech bubble above the person's head contains the text: "Text STOP to no longer receive US secret war plans." The overall tone of the image is humorous, juxtaposing the serene expression of the person with the intense background.

And published the SAME DAY she was arrested? Did they even have time to read it first?
in reply to Matt Blaze

@mattblaze I wonder maybe if they just pulled a list of student activists and looked for anyone on a visa? That's possible too.
in reply to Matt Blaze

@mattblaze Looks like it was published a year ago today. Still that means they are going back and dredging up old articles as justification.
in reply to KanaMauna

@KanaMauna Ah, I misread the year. Makes more sense, except it still makes no sense.
in reply to Matt Blaze

@mattblaze Yeah, seems really weird to happen on the anniversary of the publication. And, ho boy, that letter is so mild compared to what gets posted on the internet.
